Scripture is clear that "apart from Him we can do nothing" (Jn 15:5; cf. Ps 127:1), yet how often do we pridefully devote ourselves tirelessly to our own plans, strategies, and labors "for God," without devoting ourselves and persevering in the serious, spiritual, labor of prayer? Scripture reminds us that our battle is not against flesh and blood (Eph 6:10), and as such, our weapons are not earthly but spiritual (2 Cor 10:1-4). Learning from our brother's and sisters of the majority world church, our aim is to make earnest prayer a daily part of our individual and corporate routine, morning, noon, and night -- eventually growing into a 24/7/365 movement of prayer. We must pray more than we labor -- we must allow the LORD to go before us and to fight our battles. We must humble ourselves, seek the face of the LORD, and trust that as we do, He will heal our land and bring revival to His church and to our city.
